It has been really hot here, records set every day now 50 days in a row temper is rising. Alice I think is showing of pregnancy she looks bigger than she was. I am looking forward to some little piggies.

Alice

Albert and Alice was making bacon back in Feb. 2010. I am not sure, but Alice is seam to be with piggies. She is showing some signs like tiredness and not eating as much as she was. I will keep an update on here.

Hogs desert

I feed the hogs some pears today they went hog wild, guess that is where the saying came from.

Rainy Day

We had a very wet day today at least 3" of rain.

The 4 A's hogs, that's because their names all start with a letter A. In order as I acquired them is Arnold (Pine wood wild boar) solid black in color. Alice (Portland China, female) white with black spots. Annie ( Potbelly and Pine woods, female) solid black. Albert (Tamworth boar, reddish with white spot on back in rear) Hope this is a help.

Feeding Albert

I was feeding he hogs the other day some plumbs. Albert bite my finger at the base of the nail. It really hurt, I though he had bit it off totally.

Rats!

I have been lucky, I have caught 4 rats so far. And still luring them.

4th of July Celebration of Independence Day

We had a cook out and watch a good movie, very small gathering. The Hogs layed around all day, the weather was nice, a good breeze blowing. I have not seen the Rats since I put out the trap. Hope they are gone back into the woods. We watch the Fireworks on TV from our easy chair. No traveling and traffic to deal with. Seen it all before all looks the same, year after year.

I set a trap but no luck catching them.

I have found 2 big rats in my hog pen dens. I set a trap to catch them, I will make a photo of them when I do catch them and post the pic. I was going to show the trap with a pic but it started to rain when I set the trap out.

Welcome back!

Yes, I was away for awhile due to a medical problem. Welcome back to my blog. Albert and Alice hooked up yesterday and may see some piglets soon. I hope it worked this time. Thankyou for visiting my blog.

I have been real bad off sick with the flu. Not spending any time out side either. The Hogs, I have some one taking care of them until I am able to.

Easter Sunday!

Had dinner with my Brother and Family, was a good day. I am sick again run a fever and up set stomach. Bad old cold.

Great Idea!

I wear rubber boots around the Hog farm and my feet stink when I take them off. So I tried to do something about the smell. I thought of putting Drier Sheets in my boots, It works my feet smell good now. If you wear boots try it and see what I am telling you.

Feeling Better Now!

Getting back at working on my trailer railing, I ran out of bolts and had to wait to I went back to see the Doc to buy more. The nearest Tractor Supply is 40 miles away and gas here isn't cheap.

Bad day for me, Because I am sick.

Yes! I got a real bad cold and need to stay in for a few days.

Raining again!

The next 3 days we are having rain, it is the Pitts. I did run out of Carriage bolts need to pick up some.

Got a lot done today on my trailer sides, hope to finnish tomorrow. Real good weather for tomorrow, but rain for Wed. Sorry, I have not taken any pics been to busy.

I let myself down yesterday.

I was going to butcher Albert yesterday, when I ran into some problems with the equipment I had to work with. I feel like I did not have enought coolers to put the meat into for proper prosessing the meat. Also the come-a-long would not reach the ground to lift the hog for cleaning. So I abort the prosess for now.

Albert's last day on Earth?

NO, Albert was given a stay from higher up. Albert was spared and not taken out.

Weather not permitting!

To windy today not able to get out and do some work on the trailer sides. Maybe tomorrow the Weather will be better.

Albert put me to work fixing his pen today, where he can not get out with Arnold and Alice. Albert was digging holes next to the fence. He didn't make it before I caught him and cover up the holes.

Rain again got nothing done

It rain all day and did not get any work on the side rails. But good news, a friend said some one he knows might want to buy my Hog's. If I sale them I will close this Blog page out.

Slow going on the Trailer

Work hard to get the side rails finish, but made little progress. Something seams to hold me back and don't know why.

The wind is to strong and not able to get nothing done.

I have not been out except to feed the Hogs, it is to wet and cold, I am not used to this kind of Weather. Will have more pics as soon as it clear off.

I did get a little work on the trailer side rails today. Hope to have it ready by the end of the month. I tried to sale my Hogs today I am asking $5o.oo each four the four Hogs. I though I had a buyer but he turned me down. They are four sale if anyone wants them, but must live near by to get them. (31537) my Zip.

Mummmmmmmmmm

I feed the hog's some Apples Fri. and Sat. they love them. I have to watch them so they don't take each others Apples. They are fun to watch, I will try to include more pics on my site.

Yes! I do believe the rain has let up for now, maybe get some work done on the Trailer again.

We have had a lot of rain this Winter more than I like. The Weather is slowing me down on fixing the trailer to transport Albert, lucky for him.

I put Albert in with Arnold and Alice, Albert when straight for Alice to mate, he has wanted to get to her for months. Albert and Alice was making bacon, maybe I might get some pics of them.

Apple time for the Hog's!

The local grocery store had a good sale on apples, buy one and get one free. So I got two bags for the price on one. The Hog's really enjoyed their Apples.

Rain, Rain, Rain!

We got 6" of rain Thursday night and Friday morning, the Hogs was just before having to swim when it stopped raining, thank you God for stopping the rain when you did. I had to wear my rubber boots to feed them.

Hogs surive the freezing cold weather!

We have had some harsh cold weather here in South Georgia, it got as low as 17 degrees for a few days this past week. I put a lot of pine straw in each hog pen to help them stay warm, they like the pine straw to eat as well to make a bed with. I need to take some more pics to show their pens. I also need to clean some pens too, get the poo out.

Cold weather is here it is Hog butching time!

Hog butching time! Looks like Albert will be the first to go to the Market, he is starting to be a pain for me and Annie. Muuuuuuuum good sausage and ham!
